Krauss Maffei, represented in Oceania by HBM Packaging & Plastics Technologies , have been selected by global automotive components and systems supplier, the IAC Group, to equip their new production plant Romania with state-of-the-art automotive injection moulding machinery.
Krauss Maffei injection moulding machinery was selected due to its outstanding expertise in automotive injection moulding and polyurethane technology.
The new €58 million, 15,000m² IAC Group facility in Bals, Romania, will produce instrument panels, door panels, headliners and other interior trim components to support Ford Motor Company’s production of two new passenger cars.
As the company's sole supplier for plastics technologies, Krauss Maffei will supply 28 automotive injection moulding machines from 500 to 3,200 tonnes clamping force, plus systems for polyurethane foaming and punching.
Krauss Maffei will supply and assemble the automotive injection moulding machines and moulds, develop, plan and design the product elements, and provide other services as part of the order.
“The fact that IAC has chosen Krauss Maffei as system supplier for the new plant is more than simply a confirmation of our Technology³ approach to delivering application-specific process solutions,” says Dr Karlheinz Bourdon, Head of Injection Moulding at Krauss Maffei.
Technology³ is Krauss Maffei’s unique market position to bring together new dimensions of productivity for customers, as they are the single supplier of three distinct plastic machinery technologies: injection moulding technology, extrusion technology, and reaction process machinery.
