German plastics machinery manufacturer Krauss Maffei has announced that it has recently expanded its production plants in Slovakia, China and Germany to meet growing customer demand for its injection moulding machinery.
The Krauss Maffei production plant in Schwaig, Germany, was officially opened this week, with an assembly area that has been extended from 670 to 1,720m². This plant will manufacture robots and automation systems for the company's injection moulding machines.
Expansion work has also begun on production plants in Martin, Slovakia, and Hiayan, China. Krauss Maffei expects these plants to be fully operational at the beginning of 2013. The Haiyan plant will increase from 12,000m² to 22,000m² and the Martin plant from 6,600m² to 13,000m².
Production at both plants will be doubled once expansion is completed, with the Haiyan plant manufacturing MX series injection moulding machines, and the Martin plant producing AX and EX series machines, as well as switch cabinets and moulds.
