World-leading plastics processing machinery specialist, Krauss Maffei of Munich, Germany has recently doubled the size of their production facility in Sucany, Slovakia to meet the increased demand for electric injection moulding machinery in the growth markets of Eastern Europe and Asia.
Krauss Maffei’s Sucany, Slovakia production facility has been expanded from 6,600m² to 13,000m². This expansion was completed exactly two years after the official opening of the plant in October 2010, much ahead of the scheduled completion in Q1 2013.
The Sucany plant was previously manufacturing the AX series of injection moulding machines as well as switching cabinets and moulds. The expansion will enable the company to manufacture their EX series injection moulding machines, linear robots and other auxiliary equipment.
The plant expansion was accompanied by several improvements in production processes and quality management in addition to strengthening the development and design of their range of electric injection moulding machines.
According to Jan Siebert, Chairman of the Krauss Maffei Group, the doubling of the production capacities will help Krauss Maffei cope even better with the increasing demand for electric injection moulding machines and systems in their core and growth markets.
Krauss Maffei is represented in Oceania by HBM Packaging & Plastics Technologies .
