Leading plastics machinery specialist Krauss Maffei Extrusion of Munich Germany recently celebrated a major milestone involving the sale of their 700th 36D single screw extruder.
The Krauss Maffei 36D single screw extruder was bought by a leading Israel pipe producer, who will be using the KME-45-36B/R machine to produce three-layer pipes made of filled polypropylene for transporting wastewater.
According to Andreas Kessler, Sales Manager for Extrusion Technology at Krauss Maffei, the 36D single screw extruders can be used with extreme flexibility to process several different materials including all popular polyolefins, special materials such as PE-RT, polybutylene and materials with a high regrind or filler content.
Krauss Maffei’s reliable technology has helped the company gain market share in the USA, Asia and Australia as well as new emerging markets in South America and the former Eastern bloc.
Key benefits of the 36D single screw extruders:
- Barrier screw concept guarantees optimal mixing in the shear and mixing zones
- Eliminates risk of thermal inhomogeneities, allowing producers to use an optimal melt homogeneity with low melt temperatures to deliver perfect end product quality
- Continuously optimised pressure profile minimises wear rates on the machine ensuring a long life for the screw and barrel
- High ROI due to an excellent price/performance ratio
Krauss Maffei has additionally introduced the 36D N series of single screw extruders designed primarily for polypropylene with a unique screw feed zone and a substantial 35% increase in production output.
These single screw extruders come with an optional gearless direct drive system that uses high-torque synchronous motors for even higher energy efficiency and lower maintenance costs.
