Global plastics processing machinery leader Krauss Maffei Extrusion of Munich, Germany has collaborated with Greiner Extrusion of Austria to develop an environment-friendly window profile production line for KET in China.
KET (Kappes Environment Technology) is a German-Chinese manufacturer who is currently developing a new generation of resource conserving windows that will commence production in China in August this year, and will be marketed under the name of ECOLIFE.
The windows are made of a composite containing 50% wood-fibre, various additives and PO recycled material such as shampoo bottles. The composite material will be mixed on a modular compounding plant using a Krauss Maffei ZE 130R twin-screw extruder.
Krauss Maffei has installed three production lines with co-extruder combinations for WPC processing, combined with tools and downstream units supplied by Greiner Extrusion. These include KMD 90-32WPC and KMD 75-26WPC main extruders coupled with KME 38-30 B/R co-extruders producing the main window profiles.
The special WPC processing units with tungsten carbide protection for the screws and bi-metal barrel linings ensure optimum wear resistance when processing natural fibre reinforced materials.
Krauss Maffei and Greiner Extrusion are represented in Oceania by HBM Packaging & Plastics Technologies .
