Krauss-Maffei, Germany, represented in Oceania by HBM Packaging & Plastics Technologies , worked with Veeser Plastic-Werk to provide a solution to increase efficiency and productivity for 2 Component plastic injection moulding. The solution was the KM 420–1900/700 C W SpinForm machine, which has now become a showcase for the efficiency of Krauss Maffei’s swivel-platen technology.
The 6.5 times greater coolant flow rate available in SpinForm machines makes it possible to optimise temperature control and reduce cycle times. On the machine operated by Veeser Plastic-Werk, the swivel unit of the 6+6 cavity mould, with its needle-valve hot runner system, is supplied by 24 cooling circuits.
Veeser Plastic-Werk began producing their first 2C parts in 1978 and have developed over 200 multi-component solutions for a number of different industries. Veeser Plastic-Werk is using the KM 420–1900/700 C W SpinForm injection moulding machine to produce housing components for a dishwasher pump. The housing cover is made of PP with an overmoulded TPE soft component for acoustic decoupling of the pump that is mounted.
