Riggs Autopack recently installed filling lines for The Tracklements Company Ltd of Wiltshire, one of the leading providers of condiments and dip products in the UK. Riggs, based in Lancashire, UK is a market leader in volumetric depositors, filling machines, transfer pumps and conveyor filling lines.
For the first project, Riggs installed a new filling line with a fully automatic twin head filling system featuring interlock doors, a selectable dipping head assembly for container neck entry and clamps to locate the smallest bottle necks within a millimetre tolerance. The filling machine’s 200-litre hopper was fitted with an agitation system to keep particulates in suspension.
The new line was configured to handle containers of different shapes and capacities to provide maximum flexibility for the client during filling. Future upgrades to the filling line will allow for hybrid filling with the use of a stop-to-fill routine that will enable awkward shaped containers to be filled.
An existing six-year-old Riggs filling line was also replaced, enabling the client to increase the fill speed from 34 jars per minute to 64 jars per minute. Tracklements Production Manager - Malcolm Hudson observes that the near doubling of production capacity on this line will help them meet an expanding client list and order book.
Riggs Autopack also offers depositors that can fill hot and cold liquid, semi-liquid and suspended solid goods including a wide range of ready meal products such as stews, mash potato, casseroles or curries. The depositor can also deposit fragile vegetables and cooked meats in sauce with particulates up to 38mm cubed as standard.
Riggs Autopack is represented in Oceania by HBM Packaging & Plastics Technologies .
