Benco Pack SpA of Italy, have been chosen by a major Italian manufacturer to supply two aseptic form-fill-seal machines for their new innovative range of chilled desserts, ‘Gran Soleil’, which are available in 7 different flavours.
Gran Soleil, a revolutionary ‘ready- to –freeze’ dessert product, is stored at room temperature, and after a quick shake and eight hours in the freezer, it becomes a delicious dessert, somewhere between an ice-cream and sorbet. The concept is particularly popular in the Mediterranean, due to the fact that is transported at room temperature, which allows the product to be distributed to remote locations, without the additional costs associated with transporting frozen foods.
The Benco Pack custom designed solution for the unique requirements of the product culminated in a fully aseptic packaging line together with an attractive customer friendly retail pack.
Benco Pack incorporated an overpressure of sterile air in the feeding tank and the aseptic tunnel, where all heating, forming, filling and film edge pre-sealing takes place. All the mechanical drives inside the machine aseptic tunnel are protected by continuously temperature controlled steam barriers.
During the packaging phase, the forming and lidding materials are sterilised to inhibit the ambient contamination of the package and the product and initial bacteriological charge is maintained unvaried and can be safely stored and distributed without cold storage, making this the ideal solution for Gran Soleil.
