Automated solution for storing or palletising bottles
AUTEFA Automation GmbH has released a unique solution for manufacturers of 'extrusion blow-moulded' (EBM) bottles for either buffer storing or palletising of blown bottles from multiple EBM machines producing different bottle designs. Manufacturers have had difficulty in justifying the capital outlay required to automate the palletising of finished containers because of the relatively low output speeds of conventional 'extrusion blow-moulding' machines.
The Autefa solution allows for collation from multiple streams of product (i.e. from multiple blow-moulding machines) and the subsequent palletising using a single robot system on to a multiple pallet assembly point for either shrink-wrapping or strapping prior to warehousing or dispatch.
The design minimises floor space and virtually eliminates direct labour while maintaining full programmable flexibility including the positioning of an alternative pallet (i.e. half size) and layer board sizes if required.
As the design uses many common components, Autefa has been able to overcome the capital cost dilemma that has eluded EBM manufacturers in the past.
