On Saturday 9 May 2009, Save the Children South Australia held their 90th Anniversary ‘Dare to Dream’ Gala Dinner at the Hyatt Regency Adelaide. The event was attended by around 300 guests, including His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSG RANR, Governor South Australia, Patron Save the Children Australia – SA, and Mrs. Liz Scarce. Grundfos Pumps supprted the event through donations to the Save the Children fund.
Save the Children is the world’s largest independent organisation for children, making a difference to children’s lives in over 100 countries. From emergency relief to long-term development, Save the Children helps children to achieve a happy, healthy and secure childhood. Save the Children Australia manages and implements programs in Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. Grundfos Pumps supported the event through the donation of an $850 voucher, redeemable for Grundfos product. The voucher was used as part of the silent auction held on the night, with all proceeds helping to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged, South Australian youth.
In South Australia, Save the Children runs a number of programs in both metropolitan and regional areas including; Health, Nutrition & Life Skills Programs, Future Parent Programs and ‘Speaking Out’, a child rights education and advocacy program for primary and secondary school students. The donation is part of Grundfos Australia’s Corporate Social Responsibility commitment, which is based upon the founding values of the Grundfos group of companies – Be Responsible, Think Ahead, Innovate.
