Grip Guard Non Slip is celebrating its tenth year of involvement with the Melbourne Safety in Action Expo that is being held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
The show allows OH&S professionals to observe, first hand, the excellent results achieved by Grip Guard non slip floor treatment. With the onus on ensuring the safety of employers, employees and visitors to their facilities, safety officers are able to gather information designed to increase efficiency and budget constraints.
Grip Guard’s non slip floor safety treatment is not a coating and, as such, provides a long term floor safety solution. The treatment can be applied to all stone-based surfaces including ceramic tiles, porcelain tiles, limestone, quarry tiles, terrazzo, and concrete.
Traditional anti slip coatings rely on abrasive material that is broadcast into a paint or sealer to create slip resistance. However, because the abrasive material is raised, it is worn away by pedestrian traffic and floors may once again become slippery.
Grip Guard non slip floor treatment permanently modifies tiles internally to create slip resistance, and will not change the appearance of the floor. The treatment improves the floor’s wet slip resistance for external pedestrian surfaces and internal areas where water is tracked, dripped or spilled.
Eighty-five percent of slip and fall accidents are preventable and property owners and managers have a legal responsibility to ensure that floors meet Australian Standards for slip resistance.
Grip Guard operators are trained to assist facility managers to assess floors and stairs to ensure they meet relevant safety legislation.
