Industrial vibration switches and monitors

Function/Applications
Robertshaw vibration switches and monitors minimise production down time and repair costs by measuring the total accelerated force (shock) present on a machine. Individual acceleration measurements are summed to yield the total destructive force acting on a machine. This information enables the user to proactively and strategically maintain equipment.

Differentiating Features
Grimwood Heating’s Robertshaw vibration switches and monitors range from the standard traditional to new technologically enhanced models. All provide unsurpassed dependability.

Vibration switches and vibration monitors are available in hazardous area or non hazardous area models.

A range of power supply and reset coil voltage options are available depending on the model of vibration switch or monitor ranging from loop powered, 24 or 48VDC, and 120 or 240VAC or pneumatic. Other options include acceleration or velocity measurement, frequency and start or monitor delays. The model dependant output can be either alarm or shutdown with SPDT, DPDT, Solid State Triac or 4-20mA outputs. Mounting can be either surface mount or stud mount depending on the model.

Start, Monitor or Start and Monitor delays are used to prevent unwanted shutdown or alarm during startup or normal operation of your machine. Start delay prevents unwanted shutdown when the startup vibration exceeds the set-point of the vibration monitor or switch during the start up of the machine. Monitor delay prevents unwanted shutdown when short excessive vibration spikes which exceed the set-point of the vibration switch or monitor during normal operation of the machine. This can be from various reasons including detonation, cavitation, other machinery in the immediate area, etc.
