Grimwood Heating has launched a range of heating cable in both constant wattage and self regulating formats.
The constant wattage heating cable is available in 30W/m rating with silicon insulation and the option of a metal braid sheath giving mechanical and electrical protection by using it as an earth conductor.
These parallel type cables have a constant wattage per linear metre even when cut to length on site.
The minimum bend radius at –25ºC is 20 mm.
They are commonly used in industrial or commercial refrigeration installations to avoid ice in drain pipes, condensation on surfaces, cold store door frames and in applications on metal surfaces not exceeding 55°C.
The self regulating heating cable with Polyolefin insulation is rated at 25W/m and has a tinned copper metal braid for earth connection.
The parallel and self regulating cable is mainly used for protection against ice formation in pipes and tanks. They are suitable for dry or damp, but not corrosive atmospheres. The maximum temperature for continuous exposure is 65ºC.
Minimum bend radius at –20ºC: 30 mm.
