THE guided slide cylinders Series QC are air-operated devices which are used in the automation process to provide movement and guidance.
Available from Griffiths Components , this series of cylinders has been specifically designed to operate in applications where space is limited and where the load must be guided to prevent rotation.
The greatest advantage to using this type of device is that it provides movement and guidance in one compact unit.
Camozzi Pneumatics make this slide unit in two versions, one with guide bushes and the other with recirculating ball bearings.
The sliding guide version is suitable for use when the side loads are very high. In fact, its resistance to such loads is twice as high as any normal cylinders.
The other version is suitable for use in high precision and regular speed applications.
Both models are equipped with mechanical cushioning, providing external "end of stroke" adjustment and preventing direct impact with the end covers to prolong the cylinder’s life.
The clean design of such cylinders suits assembling of flat sensors on both sides and the mounting of the cylinder itself from the top, from the bottom, on the side and by means of 'T" grooves.
All versions of this cylinder have a magnetic piston, and grooves on the outside in which to mount magnetic sensors to detect the pistons position. This indicates whether the cylinder is extended or retracted.
