An automated groundwater monitoring system was designed and installed by Greenspan for the ERA Ranger Mine site in mid 2005. The system comprises a network of 17 Groundwater monitoring bores each equipped with depth and conductivity sensors.
Data from the sensors is collected by data loggers and transmitted via radio link to a local base station. Graphical and tabular data displays and warning system alert operators to any changes in the groundwater conditions around the Tailings Pit.
Project Features:
- Network of remote stations
- Data loggers and telemetry link
- Solar powered sites
- Base station display system
- Warnings and alarms to operator
