Gold Peg surge vessels, now supplied by Gold Peg International , function as an interface with downstream filling equipment in a food manufacturing line, and are particularly useful for use with UHT processed cheese products.
These units are fitted with load cells to provide a signal that allows them to participate in the automatic speed control of a food processing system, providing seamless integration with other automated components.
When used for UHT processed cheese products, these surge vessels are fitted with scraped surface and internal agitation to serve as a creaming tank.
The internal agitator functions to scrape the walls of the surge vessel, preventing product build-up and aiding viscosity development.
This provides operators with the opportunity to cream the cooked product to achieve the required viscosity for filling, or to provide holding or dwell time for the product prior to filling.
CIP spray balls, CIP Pump and CIP valves are also provided with Gold Peg surge vessels for a complete package that includes automatic in-line cleaning features.
