supplied one of its Verderflex peristaltic hose pumps to a gas manufacturing company as an effective solution for transferring lime slurry from storage tanks to tanker trucks. The company was previously using vacuum trucks and required a more reliable pumping process.
There were several challenges to the slurry pumping process. Due to the high specific gravity of the slurry, the solids or particles have a tendency to settle when it is left for extended periods of time. Air must be injected to ensure the lime and other particles remain in suspension prior to pumping.
Additionally, the pump must be able to withstand the highly abrasive properties of the slurry as well as have the ability to run dry.
Global Pumps met these unique pumping requirements with a Verderflex peristaltic hose pump model VF65.
Verderflex VF65 peristaltic hose pump has a maximum flow rate of 27.2 m³/hr and can comfortably handle the 20 m³/hr flow rate required by the client. Since the lime slurry is isolated from all moving parts of the pump and contained within the suction hose, pump components are not damaged. With only the replaceable hose exposed to the abrasive nature of suspended lime, the VF65 is subject to minimal downtime and maintenance compared to other types of pumps.
The Verderflex VF65 peristaltic hose pump has simplified and cost-effectively streamlined the slurry transfer process for the client.
