ESCORT Data Logging Systems, represented in Australia by Global Cold Chain Solutions (GCCS), has released REDi wireless technology that enables the remote programming, downloading and battery check of electronic data loggers, without having to remove the logger from its environment.
The device can detect loggers from within shipping containers. The logger temperature can be checked and validated, without having to unload the container. The consignment temperature can be confirmed at the point of receipt. The Escort REDi device is suitable for quarantine services in countries that undertake the temperature controlled fumigation of perishables. Quarantine services can approve the goods imported based on the data downloaded, leading to cost savings for exporters.
In conjunction with Escort Temperature Manager (ETM), the quarantine service, exporter and receiver can simultaneously view the data on the web in real time and make informed decisions. This accelerates the validation process as current procedures usually require the loggers to be returned prior to downloading and validating the data. As the data cannot be manipulated, data integrity is maintained throughout the entire cold chain process, meeting the compliance requirements of FDA 21 CFR Part 11 for the pharmaceutical industry.
