GETEX have announced the near completion of the first stage of their new NATA accredited laboratory and office complex at North Ryde, Sydney.
Director Kerrie Ford, said she was excited at the opportunities offered by the new facilities.

GETEX provides professional consultancy and accredited laboratory services in both the environmental and occupational aspects of Hazardous Materials Management. The staff are especially experienced in asbestos: with many years of experience in the preparation of asbestos registers, asbestos monitoring reports, asbestos removal control plans, asbestos management plans and asbestos clearance inspections.
Getex personnel also cover a broad spectrum of services with appropriate levels of experience in many areas of occupational hygiene and occupational health and safety including confined spaces, lead, silica, dusts, gases, solvents and soil contamination. The modern styled laboratories contains an impressive array of scientific equipment, all housed in specially constructed cabinets. Sleek computers run special programs to process data to produce reports bearing the company's pink, grey and red stripe logo. GETEX's Sydney laboratory has been accredited by NATA to ISO 17025: 2005 for asbestos fibre counting and air volume measurement.
The facility has been built by Hungerford Project Services and furnished by Minicost Office Furniture. Colour coordination and design is by James King Interiors Turramurra. Director Lee McAlister-Smiley said that the second stage of construction of the facilities is expected to commence shortly, providing increased comfort and privacy for staff.
"We are very proud of what has been done here" he said. "Every effort has been made to ensure working conditions are at a top level".
The facility contains an equipped kitchen for staff use, as well as several laboratories, and large and small meeting rooms.
Jason North, Director, said, "Design of our NATA accredited laboratories has been thought through with the aim of streamlining sample processing to deliver to our Clients a smooth and rapid flow of work. With clients outside New South Wales it is important that GETEX handle their concerns with a minimum of fuss".
Of particular interest to Director Anthony Camus, is the space & opportunities available for training staff presented by the new construction.
"While we are still waiting on a couple of items, once compete, the potential offered is both high but also realizable," he said.
