Getex training course helps to identify potential asbestos in wastes

Supplier News

Getex  have developed a training course that can help the waste facility personnel to identify possible asbestos waste by sight when loads arrive at the facility.

According to Getex, the high prevalence of asbestos in older building materials and wastes is recognised as a major issue that must be addressed by all waste processing facilities. This is particularly important in the face of increasing industrial and public awareness and increased policing by WorkCover.

Getex observe that asbestos containing materials need to be correctly identified on the spot, but few disposal facility personnel know how. The situation is usually the result of a lack of appropriate systems and/or a lack of personnel with the skills to identify likely asbestos containing materials.

Getex have developed a training course, which provides personnel with the skills necessary to identify potential asbestos containing materials on sight.

Training courses are designed to suit all levels of experience and worker types and include the examination of real life materials to illustrate the appearance of asbestos in a variety of wastes.
