Gekko Systems announces that its Cyanide (CN) Detox Group has been awarded the Mining Magazine’s Environmental Excellence Award.
Dedicated to improving processing outcomes for mining companies, Gekko Systems has been instrumental in the development and application of alternative, capital-effective and low environmental footprint solutions.
Gekko’s CN Detox Group was voted as winner of the 2012 Environmental Excellence Award by Mining Magazine readers.
Gekko Systems has been focussed for over a decade in developing and applying alternative, low-energy flowsheets using gangue rejection and pre-concentration concepts to minimise comminution. CN Detox Group was formed in 2012 following a review of environmental improvement opportunities by Gekko’s Technical Team located across offices in Canada, Chile, South Africa and Australia.
Gekko is a previous recipient of a Mining Magazine award, being the winner of the Beneficiation Award in 2005 for the InLine Pressure Jig, an innovative low-energy, low-footprint, continuous gravity separation device. Gekko Technical Director Sandy Gray observes that the provision of detox equipment systems and service forms a key factor in the social licence to operate, especially for gold mining companies.
The CN Detox Group will continue to focus on providing a strong service and support programme for Gekko’s customers.
