Available from Garlock Sealing Technologies , 9220 GARTHANE urethane seals (U-seals) are manufactured from 90 Durometer Urethane that has high tensile strength and a high tear resistance. In fact, they have four times the tensile strength and tear resistance of conventional seals.
The urethane seal’s balanced design enables them to be used as rod or piston seals. The reverse bevel lip design ensures there is less friction and that the seal responds immediately to pressure.
The use of clear Urethane means that there are no hidden defects within the seal.
9220 GARTHANE Urethane Seals are able to withstand shocks over a wide range of temperatures and pressures and can confidently endure difficult operating conditions. They have excellent elasticity and resilience and can endure high degrees of deformation.
These urethane seals are compounded to withstand a wide range of pressure conditions and can endure use with petroleum based fluids to 225°F (107°C); air, warm water and water glycol to 180°F (82°C). These seals can also withstand dilute acetic and alkaline solutions, aliphatic alcohols and hydrocarbons, salts and solutions of aromatics and solids in concentrations under 80%.
