Established in 1963, the Galvanizers Association of Australia
(GAA) is a not-for-profit body responsible for representing galvanizing companies within Australia, New Zealand and Asia, and provides its members with technical consulting services and practical assistance.
Members are involved in various aspects of the galvanizing industry, from the design, specification and engineering aspects through to the fabrication process and consulting.
This reflects its primary aim of ensuring that galvanized products are created to the highest standards, both in terms of design and quality.
The association aims to cater to the needs of its members and the galvanizing industry, yet at the same time it is passionate about ensuring consumers receive quality galvanized products and are well informed when it comes to the design and use of such products.
Free technical publications and case studies are distributed by the association and they are available on its official website. These cover all aspects of the galvanizing process, including design consideration for hot-dip galvanizing, painting over hot-dip galvanizing, galvanized reinforcement for concrete and the bolting and welding of galvanized steel.
The association also regularly disseminates industry news and updates to its members. This ensures they are well informed regarding changes and developments in the galvanizing industry.
The association’s official website features a directory of professional galvanizers, which both provides those in need of a professional galvanizer with assistance and boosts business opportunities for members.
Sustaining, corporate and associate membership types are available, and the benefits and entitlements of each of these different categories vary accordingly.
