STRIPPIT/LVD has introduces the Parma 1212, an economical 20-tonne CNC turret punch press providing productive, reliable performance that is affordable for all shops, including entry-level fabricators.
Available from GWB Machine Tools , it is suitable for cellular manufacturing and stamping houses with short runs or prototypes.
The Parma 1212 features a 21-station thick turret with three direct-drive C station (50.8mm) auto-index stations, powerful GE Fanuc 0iP CNC control, and rugged frame and table design to achieve tight tolerances and consistent punching accuracy.
Strippit/LVD's newest turret punch press delivers up to 300 hits per minute on 25.4mm centres, and up to 650 hits per minute in nibble mode. The machine provides a ±0.1mm finished part accuracy and 0.05mm finished part repeatability. It processes material thicknesses up to 6.35mm.
The machine accommodates a nominal workpiece size of up to 1250 x 1250mm. Larger sheets can be processed with clamp repositioning. Strippit/LVD's patented Smart Clamp feature automatically determines exact clamp positions to provide the smallest possible no-punch zones to improve material utilisation.
Advanced hydraulic ram technology
The Parma 1212's servo-driven hydraulic ram offers complete control of ram position to achieve the highest punching rates of any machine in its class. Parameters are easily accessed and changed to provide optimal forming characteristics and to reduce slug pulling.
The advanced hydraulic drive system reduces noise and shock to increase machine longevity and reduce tool wear.
A direct drive axes configuration provides the tightest tolerances. This design better controls both part tolerance and repeatability to eliminate backlash and wear for repeatable accuracy and reliability.
Three C station (50.8mm) Auto-Index stations
The Parma 1212 features a 21-station thick-style turret with all turret stations keyed for maximum tool load flexibility. This versatile turret design allows every station to accept shaped or round punches and dies, reducing set-up time.
The machine is standard with three C station (50.8mm)) auto-index stations. Each station accepts tools up to 50.8mm in diameter, including wheel-style or scribing tools.
The machine turret features replaceable hardened steel guide bushings for accurate punch and die alignment, eliminating the need to rebore the turret. Hardened outboard shop pins provide precise alignment of punch and die for exceptional hole quality.
A large tool door allows easy access to the turret for tool loading. Quick-change die holders further reduce set-up time.
Heavy-duty frame construction
The Parma's rigid frame and precise tool guiding system ensure punch and die alignment to provide long tool life and consistently high quality parts.
A small machine footprint makes the Parma 1212 ideal for cell manufacturing environments and for shops with limited floor space.
Powerful PC-based control
The Parma 1212 is equipped with a GE Fanuc 0iP control featuring self-prompting screens that simplify use while maximising efficiency. This powerful control provides Fanuc's renowned reliability in control and servo technology yet offers simplicity for operator input of critical dimensions.
The control allows the machine operator to edit, input or output programs during machine operation to reduce set-up and improve productivity. A PCM card slot, RS232 or network interface allows simple updating of software revisions and easy backup of parameters and part programs.
The Parma 1212 is available with Strippit/LVD's CADMAN-P 3D offline programming system. This powerful PC-based system offers automatic tool selection and turret configuration, including the identification of optimum tool stations and turret loading.
CADMAN-P 3D provides full support for all standard and advanced punching functions, including Auto-Index stations, Multi-Tools, standard and special punches, forming, embossing, tapping, stamping and wheel-style tools.
