Supplier News

GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms , a unit of GE Enterprise Solutions, offer NETernity CP981RC CompactPCI Gigabit Ethernet switches. These are 12- or 24-port unmanaged layer-2 switches.

The high-speed switching of communications traffic to ensure it is routed to the correct destination is a requirement of communications networks, whether that data is travelling around the world or within a computer chassis.

According to GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms, NETernity CP981RC switches are an addition to their line of embedded switches. These switches can allow customers to achieve full wire-speed Gigabit Ethernet switching and come with port densities, IPV6 support and a choice of copper or optical media.

The NETernity CP981RC is a 6U CompactPCI switch, conforming to industry standards that enable it to be embedded within network systems for customers in telecommunications, industry and defence. NETernity CP981RC CompactPCI Gigabit Ethernet switches have a high density of 12- and 24-port capability and allow customers to configure the maximum number of communications ports within a single or dual CompactPCI slot. The provision of front I/O in an unmanaged switch delivers configuration flexibility and accessibility for easy use.

NETernity CP981RC CompactPCI Gigabit Ethernet switches provide support for 10BaseT, 100BaseTX and1000BaseT, 1000BaseSX or 1000LX interfaces. Both copper and fibre interfaces can be supported on the same switch, enabling customers to specify the solution that precisely meets their needs. NETernity CP981RC Ethernet switches support hot-swap capability, so that it is field replaceable while the system is running, ensuring maximum network availability.

NETernity CP981RC Ethernet switches are available in a variety of form factors, interfaces, levels of ruggedness, port configurations, media support, and types of management. Fully Managed Layer 2/3+ and Managed Layer 2 switches provide control and monitoring capabilities through local or remote access. Unmanaged switches are Layer 2 switches with no operator interfacing and are designed for quick deployment in applications.
