GE Fanuc Automation , a unit of GE Industrial, has appointed Buddy Slaton as commercial director, GE Fanuc Automation Asia-Pacific Operations.
Buddy will succeed George Theriault, who will retire later this year after three decades of service with GE.
Buddy has a background in GE Fanuc's embedded platforms as well as experience in designing automation systems. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Before coming to work with GE Fanuc, Buddy worked in various engineering leadership roles over an eight-year career with Kimberly-Clark. In 2001, he joined GE Fanuc as an Applications Engineer, served as a Sales Engineer, and was promoted to lead the Application Engineering team in 2003.
In the Commercial Director role Buddy will have responsibility for sales teams in Japan, Australia and New Zealand, Korea, and South East Asia.
