Fuchs Lubricants (Australasia) presents their premium range of industry leading food grade lubricants in an updated form to minimise contamination risk due to human error.
Synthetic fluids and greases used in food production machinery are known for their benefits but contamination from incorrect use of application-specific lubricants can cost the food and beverage industries millions of dollars in expensive product recalls and irrevocable damage to brand reputations.
Misuse of lubricants in a food or beverage manufacturing environment due to human error can be common, even with good engineering and operational practices. The use of non-food grade lubricants in these environments causes additional unnecessary risk.
Fuchs has therefore, completely overhauled its Cassida range of food grade lubricants to ensure that the risk of contamination due to human error is minimised. The updated product range will feature a clean, white appearance to differentiate it from other non-food grade products. Additionally, Cassida’s range of grease cartridges and aerosols will now be colour coded based on application.
Scott Oliver, Business Development Manager – Specialist Markets at Fuchs Lubricants (Australasia) explains that food, beverage and pharmaceutical manufacturers use a variety of different greases for different applications. Without proper clear labelling, there’s high risk of a fitter or technical assistant picking up the wrong grease cartridge or grease gun and filling a lubrication point with the wrong grease resulting in cross contamination issues.
The new colour coding on the Cassida grease cartridges and aerosols ensures that there is no cross contamination, as users can rely on matching colours for different applications instead of only numbers and words. The new labelling and colour coding will allow manufacturers to integrate Cassida’s colour system into their HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) policy program.
A recognised brand of food grade lubricants, the Cassida range is also Kosher and Halal certified, fulfilling the strict requirements of both Jewish and Muslim laws and regulations.
All Cassida products are registered by NSF International, a global standard which follow the guidelines of the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. The entire Cassida production is certified in accordance with ISO 21469, ensuring that all Cassida products adhere to the highest possible safety standards.
