Friction Systems Australia recently supplied an anti slip solution for the main loading bay ramp at the Crown Metropol in Melbourne.
Known for its 5-star quality and accommodation, Crown is also a leader in safety and OH&S when it comes to the wellbeing of its staff, visitors and contractors.
The painted surface of the ramp ran at an incline of 12 degrees and did not provide safe traction for forklift and luggage carts during wet weather. Crown selected Durabak, a surface treatment featuring the highest rating to minimise the risk of slips and falls.
Featuring an incredibly tough surface and chemical resistance as well as an extremely high non slip rating, Durabak was a perfect match for the environment. Durabak is also installed on the US Navy’s nuclear aircraft carriers for the same reasons.
Marten Pitts (Manager) of Friction Systems Australia observed that it was great to deal with an organisation that placed the safety of its people on the top of its to-do list. Commercial and industrial environments often face the risk of water or liquid contamination, especially in the entry, stairway and loading areas. Durabak is a proven solution for these environments, providing peace of mind and confidence that the treated surfaces dramatically reduce the risk of slip fall accidents, injury and litigation.
Durabak surface treatment is available in a range of colours to contrast with existing surfaces. The quick-dry formula also allows treated surfaces to be used the very next day. In the event of damage, it can be touched up without redoing the entire surface.
