Australia’s Freight Expo 2007 from 19 to 21 September will move to a larger, accessible site at Melbourne’s Caulfield Race Course.
Freight Expo acts as a showcase for freight innovation, solutions, systems and networking and as a result, it has become a recognised and major national event of its type.
In the past, Freight Expo has been associated with the heavy transport industry; however, changes in technology and logistics have witnessed the emphasis move towards these solutions-based areas.
The Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC) and the Victorian Transport Association (VTA) jointly present this event. Freight Expo is held as a part of Freight Week and is one of the highlight events.
The new site at Caulfield Race Course major facilities and is easily accessible, with free parking for exhibitors and visitors, as well as frequent tram and train services.
More than 130 exhibitors representing hundreds of Australian and international suppliers are expected to present a large range of products and services and more than 3,500 trade visitors are expected to attend.
Freight Expo 2007 will witness the development of a dedicated Materials Handling Sector. Freight Forwarding companies will also be a feature at this year’s show.
Products being represented include transport technology, RFIDs, GPS technologies, communications, bar code and data capture technologies, warehousing solutions, materials handling products plus a range of industry services, for example, recruitment, training, financial services and insurance.
