Fluke Networks have announced the availability of the new LinkRunner duo network multimeter. The LinkRunner duo network multimeter connects to both fibre and copper network links at speeds of up to one gigabit and detects or identifies basic connectivity and cabling problems without escalating the issue.
The LinkRunner duo network multimeter is suitable for deployment by frontline technicians in an organisation. The LinkRunner duo network multimeter empowers frontline network professionals to detect and resolve a range of link connectivity problems by adding fibre optic connectivity and gigabit connection speeds.
The LinkRunner Duo network multimeter also provides solutions to two other growing problems faced by network technicians, 802.1X security conflicts and Power over Ethernet (PoE) service. Technicians can use the connectivity tester to verify 802.1X settings and resolve 802.1X conflicts through fast, positive identification rather than guesswork, reducing downtime.
The LinkRunner Duo network multimeter also detects PoE service (802.3.af), consolidating more power troubleshooting in the hands of network technicians and reducing the need to escalate PoE issues to facilities.
For issues that cannot be solved with the LinkRunner Duo network multimeter, the test tool generates link status reports. These link reports provide background information if the trouble ticket is routed to higher levels. The LinkRunner Duo network multimeter is available with a small form-factor pluggable (SFP) port that accommodates a variety of SPF adapters. Fluke Networks offer a range of SPF adapters. User-supplied adapters may also be used.
