Level measurement products supplier FloLevel Technologies announces a new self-cleaning Flotation Level Transmitter (FLT) designed for use in difficult environments such as flotation cells.
Designed as a simple, low maintenance device, the FLT will increase operational efficiency of the flotation cell because its acoustic technology is not affected by density, build-up, scaling, hydraulic imbalance affects, conductivity or sticky froth conditions. The FLT FloLevel array will provide a reliable and repeatable pulp/slurry level (froth depth) with constant high resolution because the acoustic technology is not impacted by the ore slurry’s characteristic changes.
Robert Stirling, owner and inventor of FloLevel Technologies explains that the company has focused on developing a simpler, low maintenance replacement of level technologies such as displacement floats, pressure transmitters and conductivity probes that are known to be affected by environmental changes, resulting in increased costs for mineral recovery in the flotation cell.
FloLevel Technologies’ new flotation level transmitter technology will work with a higher repeatable accuracy in these tough environments.
Key features of the FLT FloLevel system include easy installation from the top of the flotation cell and simple calibration; adjustable 316SS bracket with flange mounting options; colour display controller mounted in a stainless steel enclosure; ability to measure all types of flotation cells, with a maximum control range of 6400mm and resolution accuracy options of 2mm, 15mm and 25mm; and various output capability options including 3 x 4-20Ma, Modbus, ProfiBus, Foundation FieldBus, DeviceNet, and Ethernet.
The FloLevel array is suitable for mineral recovery applications involving Copper, Molybdenum, Gold, Silver, Lead, Nickel, Iron Ore, Coal, Potash, Oil Sands, Zinc and Gypsum among others.
