Flexshield was recently contacted by a renowned company for noise control solutions on one of their substaion contracts.
The substation contractors had received official instruction from the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) to lower the noise of the transformer to the regulated level in a residential area.
There were many concerns and requirements to be meet in the application of a noise control solution, including structural strength under wind load, installation in a high voltage area, and the final noise level predicted.
Flexshield engineers worked very closely with the client to deliver a solid performing noise control solution. A subsequent EPA test showed that the new acoustic barrier wall delivers more than 12dB attenuation and brings noise levels to below government requirements.
Two soundproof doors, also by Flexshield, provide easy access to the transformer.
Flexshield specialises in providing solutions to everyday and unique noise issues, suitable for both internal and external applications. They will come to a facility or site to perform analysis and testing in order to engineer a turnkey customised answer to the problem.
