Flexshield installed a noise control solution for an Australian bullbar manufacturer located in Campbellfield, Victoria.
The bullbar manufacturer operated a substantial metal working shop consisting of a boiler maker, and welding and grinding bays. The workers were exposed to extremely high noise levels, which caused high stress levels and avoidable errors. Additionally, the noise was an issue for the manufacturer since his clients were often given a ‘walkthrough’ through the facility and the sound levels needed to be reduced for their comfort and safety.
Noise levels in the welding and grinding bays of metal fabrication workshops normally range from approximately 80dB(A) to 125dB(A). Common noise sources include welders, angle grinders, metal presses, cutting saws, and hammering and bashing on metal objects. Irreversible hearing loss in this industrial segment is a common occurrence as the issue of noise control is not dealt with until it is too late.
Following an assessment of the site, Flexshield manufactured and installed soundproof welding bays and Weldflex welding curtains to create a series of cubicles separating the welding and grinding process from the rest of the workshop.
The acoustic bays were fitted with an acoustic vision panel and sliding welding curtains featuring a removable head rail to allow access.
Flexshield offers a complete range of noise control solutions.
