Flexicon Corporation (Australia) has introduced new Block-Buster bulk bag conditioners that have been designed for use with materials that are prone to solidifying during storage and shipment.
To achieve this, two hydraulic rams and specially contoured end plates on these new bulk bag conditioners press the opposing sides of bulk bags, loosening material and enabling bulk bag unloaders to discharge it through bag spouts.
Bulk bags can be loaded and unloaded into these conditioners without the use of a forklift, as they feature a cantilevered I-beam with motorised hoist and trolley. Bags can also be raised and lowered using the hoist, and rotated manually, for conditioning at any height on all sides.
The conditioners are fully enclosed on all four sides to ensure operator safety, and include full height doors that are interlocked to disallow operation of the system when the doors are open.
They are recommended for use with bulk bags that contain hygroscopic chemicals, certain spice blends, heat-sensitive products, and other materials prone to solidifying to the point at which pneumatically-actuated flow promotion accessories integral to bulk bag dischargers are inefficient or completely ineffective.
In addition, an optional hydraulically actuated, variable height turntable is available that allows for automated in-frame bag rotation and conditioning of bulk bags at varying heights.
Block-Buster bulk bag conditioners are available as standalone units, or can be supplied integrated with the company's Bulk-Out bulk bag discharging systems.
