Firetail DAQ , data acquisition products Australia, have released the latest addition to the high performance range of USB data acquisition modules, the AI-EXP32, from Measurement Computing.

The AI-EXP32 is an expansion module used to double the analogue input channel count of USB-2416 series high performance USB DAQ modules. The AI-EXP32 adds 16 differential or 32 single ended analogue inputs and each channel pair is individually selectable for one differential or two single ended channels. The AI-EXP32 features 9 software selectable input ranges, a 1kS/s aggregate throughput and 24 bit resolution. The analogue inputs can be configured for thermocouples and provides cold junction compensation and open circuit detection.

The AI-EXP32 also adds 16 bit Digital IO channels and each of these DIO channels are configurable for digital input or output. Signal connections to the expansion module are through four banks of removable screw terminal blocks. The expansion module connects directly to one of the USB-2416 high performance series modules using a 37-pin expansion connector. Power is supplied from the 2416 series module.

The AI-EXP32 coupled with a USB-2416 series module is a suitable choice for high performance high channel count applications especially when mixed input types such as current loops, thermocouples and voltages are required.

Software included with all of the hardware modules is extensive and includes TracerDAQ, a full-featured, data logging, viewing, and analysis application Universal Library, programming libraries and drivers for Windows-based programming languages Universal Library for LabVIEW, VIs and programme examples for LabVIEWand InstaCal installation, calibration and test utility.
