Australian packaging machinery manufacturer Fibre King designed and installed end-of-line packaging machines for Pfizer’s operations in Singapore, the Philippines and China.
Pfizer (formerly Wyeth Pharmaceuticals) has invested over USD700M in capacity upgrades of its nutritional formula operations in Asia. Fibre King secured all the end of line packaging work across the three separate projects.
Fibre King’s latest installation at Pfizer China's Greenfields Plant involved four infant formula can and carton lines comprising of a depalletiser, lowerator-air rinser, WAP50 dual layer continuous motion wraparound case packers, WAP25 case packers, and CP50 and CP30R palletisers.
According to Earle Roberts, CEO of Fibre King, pharmaceutical clients demand high standards in equipment, service and documentation. Given the potentially high cost of downtime on these production lines, Fibre King’s 50-strong team are constantly under pressure to deliver the packaging equipment with no margin for error or timeline extensions.
The new dual layer continuous motion case packer was developed by Fibre King to run dual layer and single layer packs at high speeds using standard wraparound cases, which helped meet capacity requirements.
The China Greenfields installation was the largest single export installation executed by Fibre King involving fourteen 12m containers of equipment shipped out of their Brisbane facility along with responsibility for turnkey installation of the four lines.
Close co-operation with the client and building designer during the development phase as well as significant upfront work with upstream and downstream suppliers minimised unexpected issues during installation and commissioning.
Fibre King is an Australian owned and operated company with over 50 years of experience in the design, manufacture and servicing of end of line packaging machines. The company specialises in case packers, palletisers, meat equipment and crate automation equipment.
