The new PPS self-adjusting pneumatic cushioning system from Festo adapts automatically to provide suitable cushioning characteristics within the permissible range.
It enables fast travel into the end positions without manual adjustment. This is achieved by the use of longitudinal slots, which allow the air to escape in a controlled manner.
Adjustment by the user is no longer necessary, so the commissioning process of many applications is completed with ease and in less time, reducing installation costs.
It also prevents damage and production downtime, which can occur when adjustments to traditional cushioning systems are made incorrectly. The PPS self-adjusting pneumatic cushioning system is also equipped to adapt quickly to changing loads or pressure conditions, if they occur in an application.
The PPS self-adjusting pneumatic cushioning system is available as an option on the DSNU range of cylinders from Festo. It is recommended in cases where high masses and/or speeds are present and adjustable end position cushioning is required in order to obtain a jolt-free approach to end positions.
