The National Measurement Institute (NMI) offers an innovative program for individuals who want to become verifiers of weighbridges using substitution loads.
Verifiers are responsible for ensuring that weighbridges are measuring accurately and comply with their certificates of approval.
The NMI’s Verifying Weighbridges program focuses in providing participants with the knowledge and skills in using substitution loads to complete weighing performance testing, to assess weighbridge installations against legislative requirements and to interpret a 6B/0 conversion certificate.
The program consists of a one day course that explains the test procedures required to verify the weighing performance of weighbridges using substitution load, and a post course assessment based on the application of knowledge and skills in the workplace.
The Verifying Weighbridges program topics include:
- Revision of other tests required to test a weighbridge
- Change points
- Weighing test using substitution load
- General weighbridge requirements
- 6B/0 conversions
The National Measurement Institute is registered by ASQA under the Australian Quality Training Framework. Candidates who meet all the requirements of the Verifying Weighbridges assessments will be awarded a nationally recognised statement of attainment.
