AR Modular RF have been awarded a contract to supply KMW1040 multi-band amplifier to the U.S. Special Operations Command.
The KMW1040 multi-band amplifier is designed as a vehicle-mounted 50 watt, 30 to 512 MHz self-tuning amplifier.
It will be used as a booster amplifier in conjunction with hand-held and vehicle-mounted multi-band tactical radios such as the Harris AN/PRC-117F, the Harris AN/PRC-152, the Raytheon AN/PSC-5D, the Thales AN/PRC-148 MBITR, and other similar tactical radios.
The KMW1040 multi-band amplifier is available from Faraday .
The KMW1040 multi-band amplifier is rugged, dependable, compact, flexible, and easy to use. It can be used for Line Of Sight (LOS), Satellite SATCOM and SINCGARS frequency hopping modes of operation, and is compatible with all current tactical waveforms.
The KMW1040 multi-band amplifier requires no operator intervention or mode setting during its operation, as the multi-band amplifier selects automatically the correct band of operation. The level is also controlled automatically to maintain constant output power.
It is protected against antenna mismatch, over-temperature, excessive current draw, and DC power reversal. It is designed to operate from both 12 and 24volt vehicles and incorporates suppression circuitry to deal with vehicle DC power supply transients.
AR Modular RF KMW1040 multi-band amplifier has passed a number of demanding operational field tests in real-world conditions.
It follows the line of Battle-Tested tactical radio amplifiers that can withstand tough military conditions.
