AR RF Microwave Instrumentation have created a new laser powered E-field probe, designed for the use in measuring E-fields found in radiated immunity testing and GMW3097 and Ford ES-XW7T-1A278-AC automotive radar pulse tests.
The PL 7004 E-field probe (800 MHz to 3.6GHz/80 to 800V/m) is designed to measure the RMS value of the on time of a pulsed electric field. Each probe is supplied with basic calibration data.

A smart, fast and accurate pulsed electric field probe, the PL7004 model contains an internal microprocessor to provide linearisation, temperature compensation, control and communication functions.
These E-field probes have noise reduction and temperature compensation functions which allow accurate measurements without zero adjustment.
The PL 7004 E-field probe is laser-powered to allow for continuous operation without battery recharging or replacement. It communicates and is powered through glass fibre optic cables, up to 100 meters long for connection to the FI 7000 interface.
The X, Y, Z, and composite readings can be returned through the FI7000 quickly. The PL7004 E-field probe extends the range of AR RF Microwave Instrumentation laser-powered E-field probes for use in measuring pulsed electric fields.
These E-field probes can measure pulsed electric fields with pulse rates of 200 Hz and pulse widths of 1uS.
The PL7004 model is not designed to respond to CW fields. AR RF Microwave Instrumentation offer a line of field probes for CW measurement.
