ETS-Lindgren has announced that its laser powered Model HI-6105 LaserPro and battery powered Model HI-6005 broadband E-field probes have had their frequency range extended to 6 GHz. The performance improvement matches the new requirements of IEC 61000-4-3 Edition 3; the basic standard for radiated immunity testing, used to satisfy European Union requirements for the CE mark.
The probes’ 100 kHz to 6 GHz frequency range and 0.5 v/m to 800 v/m dynamic range allow the user to make measurements conveniently in the bands used by the communication industry and addressed by the new standard: 800 to 960 MHz, and 1.4 to 6 GHz. Typical frequency response for both probes is: ± 1 dB @ 26 MHz to 2 GHz, ± 2 dB @ 2 GHz to 4 GHz, and ± 3 dB @ 4 GHz to 6 GHz (measured response without correction factors).
Both probes are calibrated across the full operating frequency band. The X,Y and Z values are individually measured at each point, providing a high resolution calibration. The calibrations are performed in ETS-Lindgren’s A2LA accredited calibration lab.
