Fanquip has installed a turnkey grit blasting collector in the workshop of an industrial coatings specialist to meet OH&S requirements.
Imatech operates a high volume plant where eight staff members perform blasting and painting of industrial coatings onto all types of equipment, particularly those used in the demanding coal industry. The grit blasting process operates in about 40m² of floor space to a height of about four metres right up to the roof.
A high capacity Fanquip extraction unit, capture hoods and wall sheets as well as a ducted collection system have been installed in the workshop as an extraction system for grit blasting operations, ensuring workplace safety.
Fanquip’s turnkey solution has been highly successful as it keeps the work area totally clean and dust-free. Fanquip’s grit blasting collector has been able to handle the continuous workload without any technical problems.
Fanquip’s fully integrated collection system begins with a capture hood that extends right up to the ceiling line where dust is collected and ducted out of the building through the back wall and into a self-contained collector. The high capacity, long-wearing solution is capable of long duty cycles to meet the expanding demands at Imatech.
In addition to supplying the turnkey extraction and OH&S solution at Imatech, Fanquip also meets the needs of various industries including mining, general fabrication, agriculture and food processing.
