Following consumer demand Fanquip has developed its own brand welding fume extractor. The welding fume extraction system is an innovative new addition Fanquip’s range of specialist air movement equipment and industrial occupational health and safety technology.

Welding fumes are difficult to see using the naked eye and their dangers are often overlooked by plant managers, site workers and occupational health and safety practitioners at all levels.

The welding fumes are extremely toxic and potentially carcinogenic. By installing a welding fume extraction system, these silent killers can be quickly and officially removed from all workplaces, forming part of a company’s OH&S system.

Welding is a widely used profession across the industrial sector and the dangers of exposure to welding fumes can be found in any work environment where this activity takes place.

Even in highly automated production plants where robotic welding is carried out welding fumes present potential health dangers. These welding extraction systems can be fitted as part of the design stage.

The Fanquip welding fume extractors are mobile and so can even be used to keep personnel carrying out welding work on location safe from the health hazards presented by welding fumes.

Features of the welding fume extraction unit include:

  • castors for easy maneuverability around the worksite,
  • filters and clears air to 0.3 micron,
  • option for 2m, 3m or 4m arm length, and
  • arm diameter option of 150mm or 200mm.
Whilst the extraction system was designed specifically for removing harmful welding fumes, it is also well suited for application in the food sector as a general air cleaner for the removal of dust.
