FOSS has released the XDS Process Analytics near infrared (NIR) online analyser for solid, viscous and liquid food and agricultural products. It analyses products and ingredients directly in the process stream. It delivers a continuous flow of results allowing timely adjustments for optimal production quality and output.
Measurement results are consistently accurate without the need for frequent instrument adjustment. One calibration can be used across different XDS instruments or measurement interfaces. This minimises concerns about installation, calibration maintenance and instrument adjustment. Ready-to-use calibrations are available for some applications.
Instruments can be connected in a network for efficient production control across the factory or across different geographical sites. The software supplied allows the instrument to be connected to diverse process control systems.
A fibre optic cable inserted in a flow cell provides the interface between the process XDS NIR analyser and the material in process. XDS Process Analytics is available with a single sampling point option or as a multiplexed solution with four or nine sampling points. The same time and cost benefits associated with calibration transferability across instruments also apply to multiple sampling points. The instrument is delivered in a NEN1A 4x/IP65 approved casing.
Typical applications include direct inline analysis of solid, semi-solid or liquid products such as vegetable oils, butter, cream cheese, quark, processed cheese, milk powder and mozzarella cheese.
