FM Innovations assess and restructure Holmesglen’s WSM and Aperture software configuration

FM Innovations  (FMI) have completed an assessment and restructuring of the Holmesglen WSM and Aperture software configuration to bring it in line with Holmesglen’s changing business needs. This project was undertaken with Holmesglen personnel and FM consultants Apex FM will result in a completely new naming structure for the organisations physical infrastructure.

This has meant getting advanced CAD plans drawn up and loaded into the Aperture system combined with a lesser emphasis on FMIST’s data structures and more on local Holmesglen management needs. This combined with preparing the data and the process to meet the opportunity of using elements of the new WSM 4.2 system has meant that Holmesglen and their data are well positioned to go into 2009 with a more comprehensive service delivery to their internal and contract client base.

The project assesses their current data and its accuracy, then gathered the necessary up to date data and organised this so that it was loaded into a newly designed computer interface and data structure. This combined with revamped outputs from Aperture has transformed the database from an outdated set of data to a modern online real time system for use in all parts of the TAFE.

Catch-22 management software from FM Innovations supports ESM regulations (1-Dec-2008)
There is also an additional requirement for buildings constructed prior to 1994 to be issued with an ESM. After this date, all new buildings will have an essential safety measures list as a schedule to their Occupancy Permit and this will affect every Facilities manager, property manager and property owner. It will also create opportunity for every FM Innovations service provider. Catch-22 is well adopted phrase around the world. According to most sources, it is a false dilemma in a rule, regulation, procedure or situation, where no real choice exists. It is a description of Facilities Management today.
