FLIR Systems Australia (formerly Australasian Infrared Systems) has its head office and service centre in Melbourne, with branch offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.

FLIR Systems is now the only thermal imaging company to offer direct sales and support to customers in Australia.

All personnel from Australasian Infrared have joined FLIR Systems and will continue to offer perfect goods before and after sales service of any infrared camera supplier in Australia.

FLIR Systems now has three divisions, all of which lead their class:

Thermography – Infrared cameras with temperature measurement. These systems are mainly used in the industrial marketplace, but are also employed in building technology, R&D and medical/veterinary uses, among various other applications.

Cameras range from the low-cost InfraCAM ($7,900 + GST) to the new, high resolution (640 x 480 pixels) ThermaCAM P640.

Government systems – Thermal imaging cameras, both handheld and mounted, with short, medium and long range systems (recognise people over 7 kilometres away). These can be used for numerous security, defence and law enforcement applications.

Commercial vision systems (CVS) - Thermal imaging cameras for the marine industry like luxury boats, ferries and motor vehicles. This is a new and rapidly growing area.
