Products by Ezi-Duct and Polex Environmental Engineering were recently supplied to build a new dust collection system for KPD, Australia's leading manufacturer of laboratory furniture and quality joinery fitouts for hospital and commercial projects.

The dust collection system at KPD is connected to several machines including CNC point-to-point routers and a large CNC beam saw.

KPD’s new dust collection system comprises of a Polex MDC36000P 37.0 kW dust collector fitted with a VSD, Ezi-Duct modular ducting and Ezi-Duct flexible ducting.

The Polex MDC36000P dust collector offers a fully automatic, reverse pulse self cleaning system that automatically cleans up to 150 filter bags every 60 seconds. Supplied with two hoppers and two rotary valves that enable direct loading of the collected dust to two 3m³ collection bins, the Polex dust collectors need not be switched off when the bins are emptied, resulting in significant savings in labour costs.

The Polex variable speed drive controller or VSD integrated with the dust collector is supplied with a pressure transducer that will sense and automatically turn the power consumption of the fan motor down when one or more of the machines is not in use, resulting in power savings.
