Ezi-Duct was commissioned by a Central Coast-based door manufacturer to upgrade their dust collection system.
Daorah Painted Finishes, an Australian manufacturer of top quality doors and kitchens needed a reverse pulse dust collector in their Central Coast factory when they purchased a new CNC wide belt sander. The very fine dust from the sander would fill up the bags on the existing dust collector very quickly, reducing the system’s efficiency.
Ezi-Duct supplied a Polex 30.0 kW MDC 2400P reverse pulse dust collector that automatically cleans its 100 filter bags during operation, ensuring that the unit works at or near 100% efficiency all the time. The dust collection system is connected to the factory’s CNC point to point router, edge bander, panel saw and several other machines.
The Polex 30.0 kW MDC 2400P was supplied with a Polex variable speed drive controller (VSD), which comes with a pressure transducer to sense and automatically lower the power consumption of the fan motor when one or more of the machines are not in use, resulting in significant energy savings.
The dust from the new dust collector is deposited directly into a 3m³ rubbish bin via an airlock rotary valve, saving on labour costs as there is no need to switch off the dust collection unit and shut down the factory when emptying the bin. Only the rotary valve needs to be turned off to empty the bin.
Daorah Painted Finishes is extremely satisfied with the performance of the unit, and the service received from Ezi-Duct and Polex Environmental Engineering.
