Auspack 2005 more than half sold

WITH 14 months remaining until the show is held, organisers of Australia’s biennial packaging exhibition, Auspack 2005, announced last month that more than 50 per cent of the available exhibition space has been sold.

Auspack, which alternates between Melbourne and Sydney is being staged in Sydney next year, for the first time at the, Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park. In the past, it has been staged at Darling Harbour.

“On the back of the successful 2003 event in Melbourne, exhibitors recognise that Auspack provides the best opportunity to showcase products, technologies and services to new and existing customers in the most cost effective manner,” said Robby Clark, event manager with organisers Exhibitions & Trade Fairs (ETF).

The theme for Auspack 2005 was ‘New Business Face-to-Face’ which emphasises the key benefit the exhibition would deliver; the opportunity over four days to meet agents, distributors and thousands of potential customers who travelled from throughout Australia, New Zealand and the surrounding region to attend.

“In 2005, visitors will have the opportunity to see and meet more than 200 exhibitors displaying over 900 brands, servicing areas such as packaging and processing, filling and sealing, weighing, bottling, labelling, palletising, wrapping, capping, quality controlling, materials handling, vacuum packaging, waste management, coding and marking.

“The most important product we can deliver for our exhibitors are the buyers, Clark said. “Following an Auspack 2003 attendance increase of 19. per cent, we are well positioned to deliver once again.”

Auspack’s comprehensive campaign through advertising, public relations and direct mail strategies ensure the right ‘buyers’ would attend. At the last event, which had a record attendance, 25 per cent of the visitors had come from interstate and overseas.

Clark said the organisers were thrilled to have the opportunity to move Auspack to the world famous Sydney Olympic Park, centrally located in Greater Western Sydney, the third largest economy in Australia.

“Auspack was growing at such a rate that other venues were unable to accommodate our event. Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park is the latest state-of-the-art venue, and best of all, we now have the room to grow ” he said.

Auspack 2005, Australia’s International Exhibition of Packaging and Processing Machinery, Materials and Associated Technology, will be held from Octoiber 11 to 14.
