Coloured light guides
Coloured light guides, manufactured by MENTOR, are available from
Erntec . These coloured light guides are designed for transfer of light to the front panel. Even if the light emitter is inactive, assigning of the signal display to the signaller is possible.
This is made possible by translucent, intensive colouration of the light guide. The new type system is able to visualise information about imaginable switching status beforehand without them occurring.
The light guide portrays the epoxy made LED body and transfers the signal to the front panel. The variable system is serviceable with an LED like form of display, with a flat display panel and chamfer for improvement of the visualisation as well as for flush mounting with the front panel. Due to their variability of length within a range of 4.5-45mm, they are utilisable in many different ways. These make the realisation of positions possible, which lie deep in the front panel as well as upright variants.
Additional variants in both series have a chamfered light coupling area which makes it possible to use less expensive TOPLEDs and SmartLEDs, and to emit light parallel, with a 90° light coupling in relation to the printed circuit board. The light guide system for the front panel assembly has an outlet-geometry of 3mm or 5mm respectively and allows use with all common LEDs. By pressing into the front panel, borehole assembly is easy to carry out. ESD resistance reaches 10 kV at a length A of 4.5mm and increases by approximately 1 kV per additional millimetre of length.
